Having settled an old foe in the form of the River Devil spawn, the Elements ride on to Moteja, a town nestled between the feet of the Northern Colossus-- a site that is becoming increasingly popular among troubled pilgrims whose nightmares are plagued with vague visions of the end of the world. The eccentric elf Marek Kane aids the party in climbing the sheer cliff of the Colossus' leg, and the team discovers the true form of the arduous test of their own pilgrimage to the Seat of the Colossus in the form of the Dark Elements, a twisted vision of the world's last hope.

With the more disgusting members of the Dark Elements finally defeated (and the traitorous Mercury dealt with at long, long last), the Elements arrive at the Seat and awaken the Colossus-- and as the floating island of Regulus sinks gently into the Colossus' outstretched palms, the team knows they have done well.

With a distinct lack of subtlety, Jorts' foul plans (and a good number of his plant-zombie clones and creations) are tackled straight into another dimension, and pruned for good. As the smoke clears, it becomes apparent that perhaps more attention should have been paid to another student's ambitions.

The Elements discover their defeated dragon was, until recently, the scourge of a nearby town, who are more than happy to celebrate their successes and send them off with fresh supplies and happy hearts... only to find the river they now sail upon is hauntingly familiar, as the spawn of the loathsome River Devil defeated long ago threatens to crush their damaged Battlevan.
